Default PTD height for ls/vtec

hey everyone i am building an ls/vtec motor with wiesco 12-1 compression pistons, ls crank and b16 head. i just installed the rods, bearings, pistons, rings, etc. i just checked my piston to block height(at TDC) with a depth guage and it is in between .017-.021 in all 4 cylinders and i need to know if that is the right height? any help is appreciated!

Claying should always be done on a new motor just to be sure. Make sure you lock the vtec lobes in as well when you clay.

I recently built one though that was .007 in the hole, 12.5:1 mahle's, .010 taken off a PR3 head and using skunk 2 S2 cams with a .030 head gasket so I am sure you will be fine but casting variances and valve relief differences mean you should clay just to be sure. It will take an extra 2 hours of time for the peace of mind.
