any of u ever get that damn error code? and the damn thing spits the cd out over and over. no matter if its a store bought cd or burned cd. the thing sucks. this is in a EG, so its not like i can go to the dealer and give them warranty crap.

is it the PE0 error that is displayed? it spits the cd back out regardless if its store bought, burned, etc and displays PE0 rite? we had that problem in my gf's 99 prelude.. tried cd lense cleaner.. no luck.. store bought brand new cds.. no luck.. the dealer was tryin to say it was cuz the CD's were burned that it didnt work.. so I got a brand new (sealed in plastic from store) cd and it still wouldnt work in the factory cd player that came w/ the car (deck #1).. they replaced the deck under warranty(deck #2).. however a couple months/maybe a year later same thing happened..they replaced it again (deck #3)... after about another year.. same $hit happened... so I told her forget going to the dealer.. put in a Clarion head unit.. and haven't had any problems since...

i'd try a CD lens cleaner.. and if that doesnt work (which it didnt in our case).. just get a new headunit and save yourself the time, frustration..

The laser is most likely out of wack/misaligned. You can probably send it to some place to get it serviced, but it may be more econically feasible to just replace it with an aftermarket deck. I doubt a CD lens cleaner will work. But there cheap, so you might get lucky and it may solve your problem.

Dude... Forget it, my **** did that as soon as I rolled off the lot. I had honda replace it and it didn't seem to have a problem again. (well for the 1st 2 weeks till i bought another head unit)

Do yourself a favour a buy a new headunit. The stock CD decks in honda/acuras since '97 are notorious for the PE-0 error...

Sure you can get it replaced under warranty if you're covered, but its usually a matter of time.

this will happen when you disconnect the battery for a certain amount of time. What you would usually do is take it the honda and they will look up the code via your vin number and give you the 5 digit code. Seeing as how you have a radio that did NOT come stock with the car, i dont think they will be able to help you out. They can maybe take the headunit out and get a code from the back, but you know how honda is with their pricing. You might as well just buy an aftermarket headunit.

I thought what he meant was that his radio is displaying an error code and spitting the CD back out.. not that its asking for the security code.. anyway like I said above.. if its giving you an error like the PE0 error that we had on our prelude.. then just save yourself the time and trouble (even if its under warranty) and get an aftermarket head unit...
