Has Anyone Successfully run on 3 mounts?
As most of you know, only a a few front cross-members come with a front mount provision and that later hydraulically activated transmissions also lack a front torque mount. Has anyone successfully run their SOHC setup with only three mounts? By successfully I mean recreated the same amount of stiffness as four mounts. My setup is JimFab Torque mounts and stock side mounts with Prothane Inserts; my engine doesn't move at all, and I would like to keep it that way.
Well almost all DOHC setups are 3 mounts these days, but your camp also has an unlimited amount of aftermarket mounts with a range of polyurethane hardness ratings. A 3-mount kit just came out for the SOHC camp, and the rest of us have to resort to window weld and various foray's into the market for torque mounts.
Could you use one of those hydraulic arms/turn buckles to limit movement? They mount to the motor and to the car to limit movement...and to transfer a TON of vibrations to the car.
Other than that quit whining about SOHC crap suck it up and make your own poop. Then give me a discount.
