Default sleeving honda blocks...

alright guys... so heres the deal..

$1050 total for golden eagle sleeves is the best i've gotton in the sacramento area. but i still have to have it re bored to my piston size.

jg sleeves for $750 already bored to the piston size i need.. i need feed back... did alot of researching on this topic both here at honda tech and else where. golden eagle is pretty well known, and lots of guys are happy with the product. along with darton.

i know jg makes alot of **** and probably been around longer than golden eagle if im not mistaken. they make some pretty impressive stuff, but sleeves?? i really havent heard of any body using jg sleeves... can any body vouch for them ??

yes its another block sleeving dispute, but its not golden eagle and dartons, its golden eagles and/ or jg... . what are you guys running out there or have seen ran by buddies. which is better out of the two??

this is a d16y8 going for about 400 wheel power by the way. yes "D".. im ready to get this ef back on the road again. any feed back would be great. rocking the sohc..

thanks guys....

RS Machines charged me $1100 shipped/sleeved/bored to my specs.. I went through Dynospot racing in San Jose and they took care of it for me.

* But this was early last year...so I don't know if their price gone up.

Well the type of sleeving that we use are:

1. Darton MID kits which after the kit and installation and final bore, hone and deck comes out to about $1300.00

2. Open Deck Iron Ductile Darton sleeves with installation, final bore, hone, and deck is about $950.00

Both do not require any line hone and it is complete with the final bore and hone so its ready to assemble.

When you choose a sleeving company, check to see if the prices include everything down to the bore, hone, etc. Some may require you to line bore if thats what their process requires. It may initially seem like a low price but after a line bore($150-300) and final bore, hone and deck($150-250), you may end up paying more than you planned.
