Default idle problem

my 91 civic is having pretty bad problems.. it just started 2day.. i was going down the road i noticed my check engine light come on and the car had no throttle response and then just stalled out. so i turned the key back ad everything to reset the fuel pump and it would be fine for a couple minutes then it will just do the same thing. I also put fuel injector cleaner in it and it didnt make too much of a difference. does anyone have an idea what could be wrong here?

First you need to tell us what the CEL was.

turn your car on, when the check engine light comes on, peel the passenger side carpet back (under the glove box) and look for the little red blinking light. Count how many times it blinks.

there are 2 types of blink. Long and short.

Each long blink stands for 10, each short blink stands for one.

If it blinks 4 short times you are throwing a code 4. If it blinks 2 long times and 3 short times, that would be code 23.
Go look and come back, we will be able to help you then.

Don't forget that Non-OBD cars only have short blinks
