Default Possible HFP kit install tomorrow...tips, tricks, etc??

It looks like tomorrow is going to bein the 70's, so i'm planning on taking a day off from work and attemping my HFP lip kit install.

Just wondering if any of you Do-it-yourselfers have any tips for the install, anythings to pay specific attention to, etc?

I always get a bit nervous installing something the first time... any help would be appreciated!

If all goes well, you might see pics of a lip-kitted, Time Attacked Si tomorrow!

Make sure to clean the front and rear bumpers and the rocker panels with isopropyl alcohol wherever the adhesive will be applied. Some people skip this step but its a very vital part of the install. Front lip is a breeze. Rear lip requires a bit more work but not all that hard. Side skirts(for me) were the more challenging part. You could probably get away with doing it yourself but it'll be 43698734 times easier with someone else giving you a hand. Use the little template to help you line up everything! THey include it for a reason so use it!
I found that a hairdryer was helpful in getting the adhesive to be as sticky as possible.
As long as you've got the honda instructions you'll be fine... take your time and post pics ASAP!

Like Trevor Said... TONS of cleaning on the bumpers or anywhere that that double side is applied.

Also... Go to Home Depot in the Paint section.. they have an "old Milwaukee" Heat Gun for like 19.99....

If you need anything u have my cell & office.

yep, tonight i plan on using dawn detergent to clean all the wax, residue, etc off the car. Tomorrow morning i'll alcohol the car down as well. I've got one of my friends willing to help, he's not a car guy...but i dont think you need to be for this install. Just another hand to help line things up!

Thanks Mike, much appreciated....i think i might heat things up a bit with a hair dryer...but i think i'll be ok without the heat gun! ...hopefully!

Hair dryer will work just fine

The most important thing is to make sure the side brackets are put on in the right position. There is no removing them in one piece (at least with no bends) once you've completely stuck them on. Use the paper templates and only cut the template in the one area it asks for. I initially cut it in 3 , then realized I made a boo boo

Also remove the back of the double stick sided tape as per instructions. DON'T be a hero (like someone I know, LOL not me ) and remove all the backing and try to stick the complete section on at once.

If you have a good eye and that extra pair of hands you should have no problem doing it up! If you have any questions let us know.

well, the install didnt happen. When i finally opened the box for the front and rear lips they were both damaged...serves me right for not checking them out in SEPTEMBER when i bought them. Thankfully Flagstaff honda was understanding as can be and shipped me replacements, hopefully they'll be here in about a week and i can plan another install date...ugh.

Cliffs Notes: FLAGSTAFF Honda rocks, and i appreciate what they did for me. Sean also mentioned that their pricing for parts is cost + 10% + freight. I'd suggest giving them a call if you want any Factory Honda Parts or accessories!

Front and rear red "H's" are on though!

the paint of the lip kit doesnt seem to match, it looks off. And why didnt you take the lip spoiler on the deck off BEFORE you installed the new one?

Man, I feel your pain. You had to wait 3 or 4 months to put the wheels on your car, and even longer for the lip kit... that still hasn't been put on. I'm sure it'll look sweet when its all together

I know that one of my personal pet peeves is having to wait for good weather to install a part that just sits and sits in your room
