Default fender question

tried a search and couldnt find anything... there are about... 4 crx's in my area and i am trying to fix up my crx with the least amount of spent money, so i don't want to order crx fenders offline for about 160 each. just wondering if it is at all possible to modify fenders from a 1990 civic hatch that i have sitting in my driveway since they are mint. i was told that civics and crx's of those years dont have the same fenders but was never told if it can be done. thanks in advance guys.

it will cost you quite a bit to mod the fenders to fit and they will look like ****, unless you are crazy good at bodywork.

just buy the fenders and save your car the embarrasment

well, seeing as i bought the car for under 300 and did all the body work myself, i'm just checking around before spending that kind of money(more than i paid for the car)on fenders. any reasons specifically of what the difficult part is? or any other suggestions?

well the cutting and getting them to sit flush will suck.
but if you are pretty handy at bodywork, then go for it.
worst thing you can do is ruin some civic fenders and then you'll deff need to buy the crx ones. have fun with the project

well for one the corner lights will not sit rigth. and i believe the molding is different. that and ur stock crx fenders have lower "side skirts" that the cibiv never did. so u would have to figure out a way to make the original side skirts from the crx fit onto the civic fenders and have em sit flush. that n the civic has a "filler piece" that goes from under the corner lights on one side to another. then the molding form the civic fenders will not match the one on the bumper. in my opinion its too much work to make civic fenders fit on the crx.

well the civic is a peice of ****, minus a few good parts(doors, fenders are in mint since they were breand new)so it will be going to the junk yard soon with a blown engine. i just figure i might as well try this before having to spend the extra loot. and it isn't going to be a track car or anything, just a car to drive around in. and since it was my first car... i am really focused on getting it looking as good as i can on a strapped budget. i love the car so much i cant just give up on it, but i dont have the kind of money at the moment.
