Default brake conversion

i just put a 94 integra ls brake on the rear of my civic 92 vx and it fit perfectly.. the only problem is. is that the brakes don't seem to be holding very well.. could it be the brake boosters.. i changed the brake pads already.. could it be the valves.. it seems like the brakes aren't really doing their job.. its not holding very well.. let me know asap.. i need it for CMI this spring break..

What do you mean they are not holding up? Like when you brake regularly? From experience, the disc brakes will not really change the brake feeling from drum brakes. They brake about the same.

Are talking about the parking brake?

Did you reset the parking brake as the Helms manual instructs (very important)? You must loosen the parking brake adjuster nut (inside the center console) ALL THE WAY. Then turn the car on, and press the brake pedal firmly several times to set the calipers internal parking brake mechanism. Then lift the rear of the car off the ground, pull the parking brake handle up 1 click, and tighten the adjuster nut until the rear brakes just barely starts to drag. Done...

If your saying the brake pedal is just too mushy, then you need to re-bleed the brakes because there is air in the lines...

nah.. didn't know about this , but i have one question? is the rear tires going to be spinning when i do this.. how come i only have to do one click? so just do one click and tighten all the way until its really tight? or just once and then when the car is down i can tighten the way i want to?

1 - Take off the center consoles parking brake cover
2 - Loosen the parking brake adjuster nut all the way back (don't let it fall off though)
3 - Start the car and press the brake pedal several times to set the calipers internal parking mechanism
4 - Put the rear of the car on jack-stands
5 - Pull the parking-brake handle up one click & leave it there
6 - Turn the parking-brake adjuster nut one full turn tighter (it will pop back into place after each full turn)
7 - After each turn have your friend spin the rear tire by hand
8 - Repeat steps 6 & 7 until the rear brakes barely start to drag
9 - Put parking brake handle down, and make sure that both rear brakes no longer drag

Done...
