I have been looking at s2k lately, Im def going to buy one but I wanna make the rite choice on one.
Buy anyways to the point....
I found a used '05 silverstone with 30k miles on it, looked it over doesnt have serious things wrong with it other then couple stone chips on the front and whoever owned it backed it a curb or something cuz one to the exhaust shrouds is smashed up a little but no biggie for me, cuz itll be replaced with an exhaust anyways, interior looked good so far from what i could see. Now the '05 ap2 still has the throttle cable rite not DBW?
The sticker on it is $27,970 but I think I could work on them a little bit due to some of the little things like the exhaust shroud and such. What do you think would be a good price to pay for this? It is at a Honda dealer so its a certified used car.
Thanks

its quite high.... but you can definetly talk that down.
markup on cars is 4k on average.
try and talk it down if you really like the car

love the s2k it is my dream car, i only really have colors i dislike not really a certain color i want, I just cant decide if getting an 05 is worth it or should i stack up more cash to put down on an 07
basically its just deciding if i want a new car or a used one because of pro's and con's of either
what are the pro's and con's of an '05 vs. an '07
and to make sure im right s2k's came with Potenza RE050s stock correct?

get a used. cant loose much money on it if you decide it isnt for you in a couple months or not. if you buy a new one then the value automatically goes down and if you try to sell it you lose money. i have an ap1 though so i im bias against the ap2's anyways

prolly gonna have to wait about a year tho, getting married soon, honeymoon, all that good stuff, just moved bases getting a new place to live all the wonderful things keeping me from my s2k
Someone more expert than me can better define when these changes happened in which years, but between 2004 (my car) and 2007, the following changes have been made:
- Throttle by wire and traction control (I'm almost certain this is an 07 change)
- Revisions to seats
- Revision to headrest speakers
- Change center console trim from silver to black
- Addition of a "glove box" like cubby hole on passenger side of dash
- Wheel changes
- Slightly different interior color combinations available
For me, I'd stick with a low mileage used one. Let someone else take the depreciation hit. When I was shopping for cars, basically every stock S2000 I ran across was a low mileage car for its age, so you can be picky.

well they have an 07 brand new for sale around chicagoland for $27000 its on clearance i guess. The price for the car you're lookingat is WAY WAY WAY high.
Yeah they came with re050s.
06 is the 1st year for DBW.
No differences (pretty sure) between 04-05

I appreciate all the help
Im working with a Jaguar dealership that has an '05 right now, I realize im gonna lose a little on my '07 Civic but that doesn't bother me so much as long as I can get the s2k and stay somewhere near the same payment I have on the Civic. I drove an '07 and I hated the DBW just like I hate it on my Civic. I think getting an '04 or '05 is my best bet and what I want.
The one I'm working on right now only has about 17k miles on it, Sebring Silver price is low 20k's so my goal for payment is realistic.
