water temp gauge
I just bought a mechanical water temp gauge with plan to put the sender in between cylinder head and the rad.
But when i opened it up the wire length is just over 5 feet. So I have 5 feet from just under the CD player.
Anyone run into this problem?

i assume it wouldn't be much good in the rad hose that runs from the rad to the block?
I also have my fan wired to run all the time, so would it be a problem if i just took to the sensor on the thermo housing?
That is only used for the fan and not the ECU or stock gauge right?
BTW its a H22

first, mechanical gauge should have a "sender", it should have a line that coolant runs from the upper rad hose to the gauge itself.
as far as hook it up, im confused by your problem. what brand are you using? are you sure its mechanical?

it has a sending unit and a line from that running to the gauge that is filled with ether gas.
I dont think its long enough to make it to the upper rad hose where i intended to install it so I was hoping i didnt need a thermo switch. Is the only function it serves turning the fan on?
