I've got a "rattle" in the front of my car, it's coming from under the hood i have no idea what it is. some days i don't hear it when i start driving but eventually it starts as i'm driving and some days it starts the second i pull out of my driveway. i is very apparent when i let out the clutch.

i took it to the dealership, a tech test drove it, said it was the upper strut mounts, they ordered the parts, a week later they came in and they replaced both upper strut mounts.

i picked up the car and took it home all was good, i headed out that evening and it was back louder than ever, and it's getting worse. i took it back to the dealership to get them to look at it, they said they wouldn't look at it because it was safe to drive and it is an issue on more than just my car, she said sometimes the upper strut mount replacement fixes it, sometimes it makes it worse and sometimes the noise shows up somewhere else. she said they are working with honda canada engineering because right now they have no idea what it is that's causing the noise and told me to call back in a week to see if they had an answer.

is anyone else having this issue?? if so, have you had it fixed or know what it is??

B.S. how are they going to fix the problem without your car there? as far as i know, when we order strut mounts and that doesn't fix the problem, we replace the whole strut unit. 99.98% of the time, it fixes the problem. if it doesn't, the technician will call tech-line. and maybe' they'll send a field-rep to the shop to look at the problem. but still, your car has to be at the dealership for them to diagnose your problem. go back and leave it there, demand that it should be fixed. go talk to the general manager, if not talk to HONDA

 

Cool, thanks for the info, i found it kind of odd that they told me just to call back in a week to see if they had a fix yet...i think i may take it to another dealer too, i'm seeming to have issues with the one i'm dealing with lately.
