oil leak from back of b18c head
got the head resurfaced/port&polish/3angle valve job/valve adjustment n installed new head gasket w/arp head studs. when we started it oil started to leak from the back of the head through the head gasket. so we took everything off n reinstalled it. tried it this mornin n once again oil leak. we took the head off n saw that the oil is leakin from where the hg isnt sealin to the head. we r thinkin that when the head was resurfaced it may n off a tad bit. ne suggestions? hg? head job?+
edit: we had it resurfaced AGAIN n still produced a leak.

Check the dowel pins, sometimes these need to be shortened when the block is decked and the head is resurfaced. If they're too long they will keep the head from sealing.

how would i go about checkin for that? i think its the upside down gasket...ive read two other post n they leak the same place. cept not sure how we manage to put it upside 3-4 times that weve tooken it apart n tried to figure out as to what it is.

If you have a set of calipers, use the depth probe to check the bore depth in the head and the block. Add these measurements up and make sure your dowels are shorter.
Edit: need to take account the thickness of the head gasket.

i had a similar problem, i forgot to reinstall one of the oil plugs (allen key) into the head by the intake manifold. if its your headgasket then u would have low compression so check that. hope this helps
im pretty sure its the headgasket bein upside down. it would start up fine w/perfect timin but then it would lose rpms as if it was the compression.
