Default B18C Build Questions

hey guys, i am building up a b18c1 to drop in my integra and i was wondering what kinda whp numbers i could expect.

my plan is to use aftermarket forged rods and probably JDM ITR Pistons for the block.

also going to run a full valvetrain matched to the cams i will use on a mildly P&P b18c head

my question is should i look into forged pistons or will oem/aftermarket cast pistons be good enough

and also i want the engine to run smooth, i was thinking about wither skunk2 pro1's or blox a's or b's. any recommendations for cost effective cams that will put out some decent numbers?

It just all depends on how much you want to spend. I at this point am sticking with stock balanced internals and Pro2 cams. Pro 1s are a good all around choice though.

it shouldn't really be a question of how much to spend as far as power output as far as compression and the head goes.

other things i would add are a high flow fuel rail, adjustable FPR, SS header to 2.5" exhaust, probably a whale ***** intake, and i was hoping that the BBK SSI intake mani would fit into this setup well or this that more of a FI manifold?

i guess my main thing is will i be able to break 200whp and 150wtq with a setup similar to that?

Well now that you have youre intake and exhaust setup pretty much decided. Oh and another thing, if youre running forged rods, you might as well run forged pistons as well, with the wrist pin situation and all. with the engine running smooth, its all in the tune of course.

Smooth would be cast pistons and "R" cams. Actually just buy a new type "R" and run that , cannot get much smoother. (Maybe a LS)

i want a motor that will be a little more powerful than a stock R so i can sacrifice some comfort for that but i want a somewhat smooth idle and throughout the rev range.

I'm doing pretty much the smaer build up that you're doing.

Go w/ the blox type b cams. Why run forged rods though?
