What up guys, I want to upgrade to leather seats in my 91 rex...found some leather crx seat covers on ebay going for around $140 with red leather stitching that says "crx" ..but you have to pull off the original seat exterior and put these leather seat cover over the factory seat....they look really good...just want to know if anyone has purhcased these and put them on and is there a write up on how to remove and install these...they are a really nice upgrade!

Those are NOT real CRX SiR Seat Covers!!!

They are look like leather material ones. They do not have the red stitching saying "CRX vtec". (wich is a s*** because the leather allways rips below the stiching!! GRRRRR).

And more, the original CRX vtec or Sir (EDM or JDM) seat itself is not the same. I have both seats Si (standart red stripe fabric) and SIR (red stitched leather) and the lateral foam bolsters on the vtec ones are larger. The seat feels deeper and hold the body better. They are not MUCH bigger, but a little for sure.

 

alot of poeple look down on these... i really dont know why though... i was thinking about buying them & puting them over my seats as is, but 140 is a bit pricey for only seat covers

STR is the name of the company,they put it above the seats in the pict as a copyright.The covers are actually really good,esp if you get the ones with the red lettering.Everyone is drooling over the ones I have

Are those eBay covers real leather or what? It says "Leather look" right in the auction description.

They only put JDM in front of it to get you to look at it

 

You could always 'find' yourself an EF civic GTI and swap that OEM leather interior.

Does anyone know much about reupholstering? How much it costs and what if the end result looks worth it? I was wanting to get my seats and door trims redone in leather.

Does anyone have a write up on how to install and remove old seat covers....I'm new at this stuff so a write up would be great...Still not sure if I want to get these...they do look good though. It does come with RED stitching...that would look really good....Help guys!

Go to here and follow the install. Got mine and installed it last week. Looked really good. I'd rather recover them myself then pay a upholstery shop 500-1000 bucks to refinish my seats.

i got em in my crx....they look good, but they are a pain to install....took me like 15-20 hours...first time i ever did any upholstry work tho
