On a 95 Civic to make an all around street, drag, daily car, what would you do. No 'cosmetic' ****. All go.

id love to do that but it would cost 10k alone to get a k into an eg. and what would you spend it on if not a civic? i already got the civic so its 10k to spend on it, instead of spending 10k just to get something else to work with.

do a full race Ksport suspention set up, with a fully built b18c5, a 5 lug and rear disc conversion, then if you still have money left do a turbo setup with a s300 Hondata setup. Just IMO though.. youll prob spend 10G on a built B185c however...

i could probobaly get a clean, stock 86 for 8k, and would never want to drive it for fear of crashing it or something breaking. and 10k would cut me a bit short of a stock wrx, and it would still be slow, and have a weak trans (i know this from experience). i dont want another monthly payment, i already am paying on my xb (family car) which i might even sell and get something payed off. i want something FAST, i would think 10k could get me a pretty fast honda.

K swap and suspension setup can be done with 10k, just need a little swapping and hands-on time.

turbo k or k swap? last time i reasearched (though a while ago) it was like 10-15k to get a good stock k20 running in an eg, that with mounts, linkage, etc, all the **** u need to get it in, then labor.

thats the biggest thing, being in the army, and in a rapidly deploying unit (im in iraq as i type this) i dont have time to do it myself, so half the damn money goes to labor. i just want something to enjoy during my short stays in the states.

How fast do you want it to be?

gsr swap $3200
turbo kit $3000
3" ss vibrant exhaust $535
catchcan $100 (used)
3 bar map $90
Clutch/flywheel $400 or so
good used wheels w/ new tires $850
suspension $300 - 2k depending on how far you go
injectors $300
Neptune $250
Tuning $500
rear disc swap $150 for RTA's + 40 for new bushings + 50 for new rotors + 40 for new pads
Big Koyo radiator $250
Little stuff that I forgot about like gauges and crap $1500 or so?

Everything that I just listed is pretty much all that I could think of that you'd need for a good, reliable street car that you can beat on and enjoy driving on the street running low 12's. I think the above adds up to like 10,000 without that 1.5k fudge factor added in and without labor taken into consideration.

If you don't want to go that fast, you can do everything for a lot less money. Labor isn't included in those prices and don't believe those that say you can make your car a turbo k-series for less than 10k that you'd be happy with. You can do it, but it'll cost a hell of a lot more than that. I'm in the process of building a civic street car, so those prices listed above are really pretty realistic.

B18C ------ 3000$
Bolt-ons---- 2000$ (Used cams, I/H/E, intake mani all used to save money)
Suspension- 2000$ (Used/rebuilt coilovers, used sway's and LCA)
Interior ---- 1000$ (Used ITR seats, with used steering and harness)
Wheels ---- 500$ (used 15' ITR wheels)
Brakes ---- 400$ (Used 5 bolt kit and booster/master
Tires ------ 1000$ (as much used tires from different racing teams as I can get)

All parts that could be bought USED would be... Because, a cam is a cam. So is a intake and an exhaust, nothing is worth buying new when your on a budget.

My 10 000$ EG would NOT race 1/4 miles... only be a cone warrior and a track ****.

If I wanted to invest 10K in a 1/4 mile car, I'd buy a mustang with NOS, a gear, an exhaust and some slick and be done with it.

I would save the 10k and not even think twice about dumping all the money into a 95 civic that costs about 2.5k used. Save the money or buy a Yamaha R6 or a Suzuki GSX-R750 if you want to go fast.

you don't seem to be reading his post. LABOR is going to cost more than the parts for the swap. my friend did his entire swap for 4500 dollars with motor and everything but he did the LABOR himself. at 85 dollars an hour and a shop prolly taking a week to complete it going to cost you alot.
