Default Is it hard to find performance tires for 14" wheels?

I am selling my wheels and going with a much smaller wheel (preferably 15" or 16") I just ran across these 14" wheels that I like and am wondering if they would fit on my Integra, and if they can be used in competition for road racing events etc Are tires hard to find for 14" wheels?

The wheels are 14" with a 35+ offset.

Thanks in advance!

The width is the most important thing. A 14x5.5 wheel isn't going to be able to handle as much of a tire as a 14x7.5. Just look on tirerack.com to see what tires are available... you can find r-comps from most manufacturers (Hoosier, Kumho, etc) that will fit on a 14" wheel. You won't have as much selection in width and profile though.

Well, first of all, it's not clear from your question whether you are asking about high-performance street tires (to use for daily driving as well as track events) or R compound track tires (to use only for track events). In both cases, the answer is the same. There are a few choices, but not many. For your Integra, the sizes you'll find them in are primarily 195/60-14 for street tires, and 205/55-14 for track tires. You can count the number in each group on one hand. Whereas there are many, many more choices for 15" wheels (either 195/55-15 or 205/50-15 for street tires, or 205/50-15 for track tires).

Sort of true; you need to look up the specs. For example, the Kumho Victoracer and Avon Tech R-A in 205/55-14 are approved for mounting on rims 5.5-7.5 inches wide, but the Hoosier R6 in the same size is approved for 7.0-8.0.

Very good advice nsxtasy The tires would most definitely be for daily driving as well as track use.

Then you want street tires. Here are your choices for high-performance street tires in 14":

Falken Azenis RT-615, 195/60-14. Outstanding dry traction, not so great wet traction, very fast wearing (10-12K miles treadlife is typical). A great choice for the track. $61.

Hankook Z212, 195/60-14. Very good dry traction, okay in rain, fast wearing but lasts a little longer than the Azenis (15-20K). $60.

Yokohama ES100, 195/60-14. Pretty good dry traction, excellent in rain, good treadlife (25-40K miles). A good choice for daily driving. $75.

In Sacramento, I assume you never drive in snow. If you sometimes do (like if you go to mountain areas to go skiing), so you need an all-season tire, the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position comes in 195/60-14 ($69).

AFAIK, those are the ONLY good street tires (IMHO) available in either of the good 14" sizes for Integras (195/60-14 or 185/65-14).
