EP3 23.5 x 9 15" Slick Wheels/ Fitment
#1
Just picked up some cool slicks for my car. Can't find a definitive answer to what wheels will fit the tires I have.
So far I've found that a wheel around 8" wide should be ideal. However the sidewalls on these tires are really stiff and short so I'm not sure if they will push in that much. I've heard of people running 7" wide wheels though so not sure.
I know there will need to be much less backspacing than stock as these tires are at least an inch wider. Not sure on a number though.
The tires can stick out, rub at lock etc. I'll be using them for track only. No legality or tight parking lot concerns.
Thanks!
Also, how much of a burnout do true slicks require to get heat in them? Only raced on street tires before.
My apologies, tires are actually 23.0 x 9.5.

No clue on fitment but just roll into the water box then pull forward. Do your burn out for a couple seconds and you'll feel it start to pull the car forwards as they heat up. Get a good feel for what works best for you when heating them up.

Thanks.
Should I be concerned about breaking anything with sticky tires? It's a fairly stock a3 so not a lot of power, but I'm assuming everything in the drivetrain is original. I know a bunch of wheel hop will break just about anything, but should I be concerned with only clean launches?
