Ok,so i bought a b16 head (doesnt seem to be in the condition i thought it was) but for some reason i dont have valve cover mounts....this isnt making sense..
I dont mean for this to be a n00b question..but wtf i've never seen anything like this...

 

valve cover studs are just that - studs
they screw into the head, have a 10mm hex, and are threaded at the top for the acorn nuts
you just need to get some new studs (d series are not the same)

 

Hmm..i guess this picture got me real confused.. Maybe i am thinking too much..

 

you can buy them from Honda when it comes time to assemble your engine...I forgot how much they cost...not much though

you are comparing a vtec head to a non-vtec head in the pics. maybe you are looking at it wrong

Pwned myself, I'm a vtec n00b,always been nonvtec all my life so I guess i understand now.

I have pictures of what i was sent i'll put up in a minute to see if you guys can help me identify what i was screwed out of.

If I recall correctly you have the right amount of plates to hold down the cams.
