Default Cold Air intake vs. Short Ram intake systems.

I recently purchased a 1997 Prelude that already had a AEM Cold Air Intake system installled. Today I took it out to see if I need to replace it, and it was dirty as sh*t. Since the filter was K&N and I am not cleaning, and oiling it today. I am now wondering how long will it be before I have to clean it again. It does not seem to be a good idea to put it back in so I am thinking about a Short Ram system instead. What is my best bet?

check itout i just happen to have a 97 likie you. the benefit of a short ram is more low rpm torque, cold air allows you to grab more top end power. however both are better than the stock air assembly.

Thanks alot, I think I will go with the ShortRam intake system, until I can ensure no water is not getting into the filter where it is now.

I prefer 3" short ram with some heat shield and cold air feed.

unless the filter is completely submerged then you have nothing to worry about.

It is very unlikely that you will get water in there VERY unlikely. But a bypass valve is like using a condom when she's on birth control. You don't NEED it, but better safe than sorry.
