found leak in IACV, could that cause bad idling?

Found leak in IACV, could that cause bad idling?
After 12 posts in this forum I finally got some great advice, Thanks alot (THC07). I found a leak in my IACV hose. Since replacing it, the car seems to be running smooth and no check engine light. Also my gas gauge has mysteriously started working again.
