Indented footwell floor board fix? take a look!
Alright now in most cases in order to get your car onto jack stands you must lift the car up with a jack by using a different point like the two inner frame rails. Now after doing so a few times i have found there are several bends in the rail and my floorboard is slightly pushed upward. Has anyone else experienced any similar issues? What have you guys done to fix this problem?
thanks in advance

i would very much like to know this also!! the same thing happened to me unfortunately it pushed up the area where my front seat rear mounting hole was. on both sides also so it looks like my seats lean in.
not sure if you are even using the right lift points...
the life point on a uni-body vehicle is where the little lip is right at the outside edge of the under part of the car behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheel.... there should be little indentions there.
it shouldn't bend your floor boards if this is the jacking point you are talking about.

I ONLY jack up my car under the front center jack pount and the rear center jack point then I jack stand under the front subframe or the rear frame-rails or the bolts that hold the trailing arm on.
You're jacking/jack standing the wrong thing if something's bending.

Does this look like it is pushed up? It definitely feels a little weird and in my foots way when I am driving, but I am not sure if the last owner of the car jacked it up wrong.
Hmm.. so then it is definitely pushed up if it should be completely flat. I wonder what the chances are of banging out a reverse dent, if I decided to just bang a hammer on a block of wood from the inside with nothing on the bottom side?
I had this issue a while back(aware thread is from 07) only a fare bit wore, the jack slipped and I had an extra stand sitting by the jack and it dented up the floor pretty badly. I took a hammer to it(not a rubber mallet) and started hitting it... is pretty straight now.
Uhh... use the specified jacking points. The 2 tow thingies at the front of the car are also fine to use. Lower control arms are okay to put jack stands under. That's about as far as i'd go. Don't just stick a jack under the car any old place you feel like and start going at it.
Yes, I think we all know that there are certain jack points. I am not sure about the OP but in my case, the previous owner has created these little humps in the drivers and passenger footwells.
About a 4 inch long 2X4 piece of wood and a small sledge... set the wood down and give it a good hit... keep checking your progress after each hit or two. Pretty simple.
Thanks. That is what I am going to try.. once I find the 2x4 piece of wood. Do you think a metal sledge is preferable over a rubber type of mallet or dead blow hammer?
Probably will put some oomf in your drives when you swing the sledge. Certainly couldn't hurt as long as you check your progress on the underside of the car every couple of hits.
