Remedy for vtec leaky head gasket, anyone? (oil)
I've noticed on several DOHC B series Vtec setups that the front left corner is common to have a slow oil leak.
Has anyone noticed this?
Is this something that is an "install error" or is their a remedy to fix/prevent this leak?
Several motors I've owned have had this leak (LSvtec, CRVtec, B16 and GSR) along with several local engines in the area & @ the track. Seems like this is common but i know is fixable.
Does anyone have the Remedy or a Trick to prevent this?
(i'll post a picture of the area I'm referring to in a moment)
EDIT:
This is with a OEM Honda Head gasket by the way.

I agree, I have seen many cars with this problem and Echo has a point that there are lots of parts around there that can slowly leak oil, which will collect on the headgasket because it sticks out.
It does seem like that side would be more prone to warpage, even with the transmission bracing it, they have to support a heavy flywheel/clutch assembly creating a lot of rotational inertia.

so have you figured out its not your head gasket yet?
there is 2 oil pressure points on the head, 1 in the middle of the intake side and the other by cyl#4 on the intake side; 1 to feed the head and 1 to feed vtec.
the only oil gallery close to that side of the head its a drain, which has no pressure, alias if it was really leaking from there you would be spitting coolant also.

Thanks guys for the reply. I'll Post a pic this week of the plug for people to see who may come across this thread.

What plug were you referring to? I've encountered the same problem, wondering if you ever had a chance to take pics.
