Default eld help

ive done a auto to man and now i have a eld code from the ecu so i did some looking and i found on honda tech that it was the under hood fuse box is where the eld is. then i replaced the fuse box. new one from honda and my car is still going nuts. the car is a 96 civic 4 dr and i dont see any wires broke or cut . ive went to the hans manual and went trought the steps to see what is wrong i found nothing. i got a p06 ecu from a friend and got a odb2 to odb1 covert and it did not help. the car started going crazy. idels up and down and runs rich and back fires. put a new odb2 ecu in it and the lights fliker and the eld code is still there. then i replaced the alt and it did not change anything. so what could be the problem? also when i unplug the speed sensor the problem with the lights goes away but the eld code is still in the ecu even after i cleared the codes. when i take off the neg side batt cable off the car dies. had the alt tested and it is good then i replaced the wiring harness and still no change>?
