ALRIGHT GUYS, IVE SEARCHED EVERY FORUM ( FROM RESENT TO ARCHIVED STILL NO LUCK)

I JUST SWAPPED THE NEW B18C MOTOR IN MY CAR A FEW DAYS AGO,(THANKS HMOTORS!) ... ANYWAYS IT BEEN DRIVIN FINE TILL TODAY...

I DECIDED TO INSTALL MY NEW SKUNK2 MANIFOLD... EVERYTHING WENT IN JUST FINE, HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH JUST TO MAKE SURE I DO THE INSTALL RIGHT.... ALL PLUGS ARE PLUGGED IN, NEW GASKETS WERE INSTALLED, COOLANT REFILLED, AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK ON TIGHT...
NOW... HERES THE PROBLEM....... WHEN I START THE VEHICLE UP IT STARTS AND IDLES @ AROUND 1500-3000 RPM THEN AFTER IT WARMS UP IT'LL SLOWLY IDLE DOWN THEN DIE ......

well first of all it sound as the motor did not want to start right away. 2nd sounds like it's sucking way more air than needed. then once the motor starts to get warm the idle drops way down... try up the idle screw to the max...

 

Did it take you 3 tries to start it in the first clip??

I noticed that your gas tank is empty. Have you tried putting gas in it and giving it gas to get fuel back to all of the lines that you disconnected?

 

AS FOR THE 3X START, I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON, THATS ALSO ONE OF THE PROBLEMS.....

I MAXED THE IDLE SCREW UP AND DOWN STILL SAME RESULT...

I THOUGHT THAT , THAT WAS THE CASE ALSO BUT I HAD STARTED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE WITH ENOUGH GAS (just above E LINE) STLL THE SAME RESPONSE..... BUT IMMA TRY TO MORE GAS IN IT 2NITE...I HOPE THATS SOLVES IT BUT IF NOT THEN.......HELP!!! .... ...........

timing would cause the car take forever to catch to start the motor.

 

that sounds like gas to me, have u try reving the motor while its on? get the rad fluid through the lines, and the fuel, which there is hardly any in there

 

god take the caps off.

Yea i had a customer car that wouldnt idle worth a day in its life. Itll start but thats it. Then i looked down at the gas gauge and sure enough it was empty. Made him come over and put gas in and never had that problem again.

Even if it might not be the same problem you shouldnt have this little of gas in there.

 

thanks guys.... i'll try putting some gas in it then i'll let you know the outcome..

 

have you double checked all your conections, did you clean the block side of any left over gasket, even a little ?.. mix up the sensors, i dunno if you can on a b18, wether it be map/tps what not

 

looked at the interior video, that might be gas.. yea

 

First of all I wanted to say thank you to everyone for replying to my problem. Just goes to show you that in the heat of the moment you forget to look at the little things, and I'm not the only one that's guilty of it!!!

Hmotors is so good. Always clean. I havent had a part in this thread but GL with your new motor.

For the B18c complete w/ LSD shipped to my work at $3,995.00...
a lil too much but i defenitely needed it cuz my d16 was starting to f#$k up.....

dude you could have bought a itr motor for 3,999.00!!
