Default 1 bolt on my thermo housing?

i was recently switching out my thermo and fan switch and after i got the top bolt off the housing just cracked open, i looked closer and noticed there was no 2nd bolt lol. you guys think its ok to have the housing with only 1 bolt holding it closed?
