Default shifter for 96 civic 2DR

I had just installed a shorter shifter in my 96 civic but it is touching the exhaust (i think). I was going to get a B&M shifter but summit told me that I would still have the same problem. Does anyone know of any shorter shifters that will fit without modifying my exhaust(Greddy Evo). Also, anyone use a B&M shifter bushing. Is it worth spending an extra $40.00 for the B&M bushings over other bushings? thanks....

Are you using your b&m shifter with an after market exhaust pipe? If so, what kind? I think the mine (Evo) is about 3"-3.5" thick.
I'm not sure what brand my shifter is; I bought it on ebay and it came in a clear sealed bag. It has that adjustable ball on the lower part of it. Some people are saying skunk2's will work fine.?.? Which b&m shifter are you using?
