A little help would be appreciated so my buddy doesnt have to go buy a cheap-o repair manual from Pep Boys or whatever.

Do you check the fluid within 1 minute after you turn the vehicle off? (this is how you check Civic auto trans fluid). If not, how do you do it?

As far as I know, you're supposed to check it while the engine is running.

 

honda/acuras are checked with the car on a level surface and engine off.
