i got engine code from advance auto and they told me i need to change solenoid

but i dont know what is solenoid.

can anyone tell me what is solenoid and where can i get fix from?

Im not sure, but looking my freinds car the other day i saw he had 2 solenoids (or maybe it was one) on the front of his automatic tranny casing. They looked just like the vtec solenoid.

 

what happen if i dont change the shift solenoid?

 

i think the shift solenoids control the flow of tranny fluid in valve body to activate clutches and bands in the tranny. i believe that if they go out, the tranny is stuck in 2nd or 3rd and will not shift, kinda like a limp home mode. some one else please chime in if im wrong. are you driving the car now?

actually no...

just put it in my garage...

bc in the morning time i crank up the car..it works fine

but after i drive awhile and stop and try to crank up my car, it wont crank up.

so i change spark plug, main relay, distributor, fuel pump, but still it wont crank up

after i drove a while.

thats y i went to advance auto to check the engine light, and they give me that code which is not relate to starting problem.

but im not driving the car.
