Well I just started prepping my 90 civic std for a mini-me swap with a Jackson Racing Supercharger. I will also be getting my trans rebuilt and Quaife LSD installed. I am looking to have a fun street car I can autocross and maybe go to the drag strip.
First off i have to pull 3 motors. The civic std stock motor will be yanked and put in my crx. In the 88 crx dx it has a d16a6. I am going to pull the a6 and use that for a mini-me that will go in the civic std. I have a z6 head that is rebuilt with crower springs/retainers and stage 2 turbo cam.
I also have a 91 civic si that has a z6 motor I will be pulling and probally selling.

The 91 civic si was going to be the daily put i got tboned so i am going to part it out. I need the si front knuckles, hubs, and interior for the std civic.
I will be using the crx for a daily driver. It is rusty as hell but I will be installing a new clutch and putting the std motor in the crx for a good daily beater.
Here is a pic of the civic std I am going to be building- A little rust but not too bad

Jackson Racing Supercharger!

Here is the std motor just about ready to come out.

A little coolant never hurt anyone....

A side view on the civic and my garage that has no power or lights.

I should be pulling the std motor tommorrow. The I have to roll out the std and roll in the crx to take out the motor/trans. After the crx is put back together I can get to work on supercharging the std civic.
I hope to see some of you this spring/summer at some chi-town and maybe Wisconsin meets.

I finished pulling the std motor today.

Got it all set up on my engine stand.

Then tried to use a breaker bar on the crank pulley so i can put in a new timing belt. And this is what happened to the crank pulley

I tried putting a screwdriver in the holes to hold the crank still and it kept tearing the crank pulley.
I will be putting the std motor in the back of my crx and taking that to a shop a block away so i can get it impacted off, plus get the axle nuts and crank pulley from the crx loosened up.
Shocker ftw!

Lol why does illinois account for 75% of the ef forums project/build threads?
bah, nevermind I just found like 6 others on the first page that were all from different states

The t-bone damage was to the passenger side front fender and door. I replaced the door but the bottom door mount got smashed into body and will not bolt up to the new door....so i am just going to part it out. I need the front brakes/knuckles, interior, seats, and center console w/armrest for the std anyways.

. I don't have the cherry picker yet. I'm waiting on you, I've got turbo parts to buy. As soon as you're ready though I'll pick one up because I need it anyway. I don't even know how I got to 96%, the points just seem to go so fast
.
Sorry for the thread jack, carry on.

Today I put the std motor in the back of the crx and took it to a shop about a block away. I had them loosen the axle nuts on the crx and try to impact off the crank pulley...but the crank pulley wouldn't budge. I came back home unloaded the motor and put it back on the motor stand.
I tried to take off the crank pulley again with jamming a couple screwdrivers instead of one. It broke some more of the crank pulley but I tried it again in a different spot and broke it free. I was sitting on the breaker bar jumping up and down. lol

I didn't get much done cuz i was messing with that crank pulley for so long. I pushed out the std civic and backed in the crx. Took off the hood, wheels, and intake.

I will unhook everything else tommorrow and maybe pull the motor.

I took the motor to a shop and the crank bolt still wouldn't come off with them using a 1/2 inch impact! At least I got it off. 2 screwdrivers are better than one.

I aways use a prybar on the flywheel if the engine is still in the car.. a 1/2" ratchet, and the jack handle as a breaker/cheater bar - works every time! But you do need another person to hold the prybar on the flywheel.

I've yet to meet a bolt that can't be removed (or the head twisted off :-p) with a friends IR 1/2" impact rated at 800-1000lbs. I've broken SOCKETS on that thing before bolts have come loose but that thing is a beast. I had to build an adapter for my air line 3/8-1/2" just to use it and i'll suck my puny 26gal 5hp compressor dry in no time.

I finished pulling the crx motor today(d16a6). That was a PITA! One of the nuts for the header/cat connection was stripped. Finally I disconnected the stock 2-peice header in the middle.
Got the motor/trans out.
Tommorrow I will start to install the new clutch on the crx trans and install a new timing belt on the std motor. then put them together and drop it in the crx.
Slow but steady.....

Well, today sucked.
I put a new timing belt/tensioner on the std motor.

Then I needed to take off the alternator since the top mount bolt broke. I have a spare alternator I am going to replace it with. But the bottom thru bolt wouldn't slide out. I spent most my time just banging at that to get it out. I did finally get it out after about an hour.
Tommorrow I should be adjusting the valves, puting in new thermostat, installing new alternator, and maybe putting in a new rear main seal. Seeing as how I keep running into stupid problems I don't have the proper tools for we will see.
