Default Steering Clicking?

Recently purchase a 1994 Integra gsr....been noticing everytime I steer the wheel...it makes a clicking noise....I have taken the time to check underneath and made sure that no bolt was left loose....curious to know if I can do this or just take it to the shop?

that is very interesting...were your cv boots leaking some sort of black goo? and if so, were they leaving goo all inside the rim and brake lines?

Clicking is typically the result of your CV axel. If you check around the knuckle and hub on your car and you see a bunch of nasty black grease you know that at some point the CV axel dumped its lubricant. The axel will last awhile after this happens, but at some point it will start clicking and will eventually become very sticky. If it gets really bad it can be dangerous.

If you are mechanically inclined its not terribly difficult to do. Autozone sells the whole half-shaft assembly for $60 a side. If you aren't then take it someplace and have them changed/checked. I wouldn't recommend having the shop do a re-build as the cost will more than likely be higher than just buying re-built ones from a supplier.

yeah... my CV just started doing that and yesterday it started clicking really bad. my friend had a wheel come off on his Civic once because he didn't get it fixed and then it cost him almost a grand to get it fixed. I'm not driving the car now, but do you think i can find a new assembly at Autozone then? and how hard would it be to do it myself.
