A while ago my alarm system stop working. It goes off when I open the door and I can't start the car but the alarm wont make any noises. The lights flash and that's about it. I need help and don't really feel like taking it to an alarm shop. Any suggestions?
if it were me and it was goin haywire, i would rip that thing out and put a better system in there. thats me though, but check and see if its in valet mode or see if its armed and if you can disarm it witht he programming switch
Maybe the siren is bad. Kindof a pain to test, but if you cut the siren wires (and extend appropriately), you can touch them to the + and - terminals on your battery... If it doesn't make a sound, then it's bad... If it works, then there's a problem with the siren output on the alarm itself.
You could also find the siren output and hook a multimeter or test light to that wire, then trigger the alarm. If you get voltage on the wire (or the test light illuminates), then the output is good & the siren is bad.
