Default CD Player Installation Help

I just got this old CD Player (CDX-F5000 SONY) for my Honda Civic 2002. The previous CD owner has Nissan, so the wire connector that comes with the cd player fits w/ Nissan only, not Honda civic.

Do I have to remove Civic Radio to install the CD Player?
How do I get the CD to work with my Civic?

Um, yes, you do need to remove the Civic's factory radio to install the Sony. To do such a thing, you will need the appropriate wiring harness adapter plug and dash kit.

To remove the factory radio, you will need to remove the center console, remove 2 screws, then you can pop out the radio/climate control bezel.

However, judging from your post, I have doubts that you'll be capable of completing this without breaking something or setting your car on fire, so I suggest that you have it done professionally.

Indeed, I almost broke the center console; luckily, it's still one piece. Can you clarify the wiring harness adapter plug? Where often do you go to get adapter plug?

Go to your local car audio shop, circuit city or best buy and buy the harness and the radio install kit. Do you have the bezel removed already? If you don't feel 100% comfortable just take it to someone who has a little more experience installing.

Here is a DIY if you want to try and tackle it yourself:

Yah, I have the Radio removed already. I am decoding the colors of wires on the CD Player that correspond to the wires on the Honda Radio Plug.

I attempt to cut the wires from these two plugs and fuse them. Do you think it's fine to do this, or I better off to go to Best buy and get the adapter plug?

By the way, I get wire diagrams from this site http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf.
