Default 5.062 Final Drive

5.062 Final Drive

Anyone install one on there Si? I would imagine this would help out acceleration quite a bit. And with our longer 6 gear it shouldn't be too bad on the freeway.

I am not sure what you just said, but perhaps this will help you understand how a higher final drive ratio impacts acceleration.

I meant the gear ratios are nice from the factory so i was curious what this final drive would do to help it !

Would allow you to accelerate faster, but would raise your cruising RPM and lower your top speed.

exactly, I had a Type R powered EG and went from a 4.40 to 4.78 and the car felt a lot more more powerful.

i love my how my gear ratio is on my rsx in exception to the 6th gear (high rpm on freeway ftl)
i would assume that the si has it pretty well mapped out
i wouldn't even bother to change it

I'm surprised by the replies. Everyone I know that has a K-Series swap in there Eg/Dc's and has upgraded to the 5.062 loves it. And trust me when the car weighs only 2,000lbs it revs much fast than than the motor does in our cars. You guys must be Pussies! lol 'm j.k When it's time to change the clutch in my car I will be upgrading to 5.062 final and I will do a review.

lol keep in mind majority of people just got the car and warranty is an issue.
honda loves not covering things for it being "changed"

OF course i would do this when its time to change the clutch, and like type x said its mainly because of our warranty.
