Default fuel gauge...
does it matter where the fuel gauge is placed at? such as, top of fuel filter or fuel rail? Would it show different psi?

The placement of the gauge shouldn't matter as far as psi.

The only advantage to mounting the fuel gage on the fuel rail is that you will know the fuel is reaching the fuel rail and at what psi it is at.
