Default Black spark plugs, car wont start, running rich??? How to fix all this?!?!

Alright car was in limp mode for 2 weeks then it just died. So I got some plugs and realized they are black and smell like fuel. So I am obviously runnign rich then right??

The motor is b16a and the car is obd1. I have always smells gas from the exhaust and there has always been a bit of smoke, but I never thought to much of it. Anyway can anyone point me in the direction to get my car back to normal??

I am running out of money to just keep guessing on parts, I would get the cel code but I cant since I have a solid cel. I have also tried 2 ecus, Stock pr3 and a j-k-tuning ecu, and the same situation in both.

The current parts I have/waiting for are a new dizzy, plugs/wires, main relay.

Please help!!

You said the car is running OBD1? Are you running a 4 wire o2? is the injector resiter box still in the car? ( because if so that will do it). And I may be wrong but a Pr3 is not an obd1 ecu it is the JDM OBD0 CRX SiR b16 ecu.

Driver's side, near the shock tower. It's a box about the sixe of a tin of Altoids, but twice as thick.

And yes, limp mode dumps fuel into the system to make sure you don't kill your engine. I'd be willing to bet that you have the wrong ECU or your O2 sensor isn;t hooked up properly as well, like ZumCRX1 said.

The car ran fine for a year. I have never changed the 02 and like I said I have 2 ecus. Both ran perfectly fine. Now the car sat for around 8 months, then this garbage started happening.

Did you try changing the plugs? They might just be too fouled and that's why it isn't running right and won't run normal again until they are changed. This happens to a lot of EVO's when they come off the transport truck, because of all the starting and then shutting them off without letting them warm up.

Yeah I put the dizzy back on and put the new plugs and wires on it....no luck

If the problem isnt resolved with the dizzy or the main relay im gettin tomorrow, I am basically screwed. I just put new gas in it too, so I will assume it has to do with the fuel if none of the above work. Any other suggestions should the relay and dizzy fail??

You forgot to tell them your fuel pump isnt even priming at this point.

I voted to get the pump working first

Give as much info out as you can bud, more people know the less money you spend
