Default safest boost level with borestock JDM B18CR?

I'm currently considering to boost my JDM B18CR! First of I was really unsure rather i should go supercharger (JSRC kit) or turbo charge, however, I have made up my mind to go turbo cuz I wanna hear that "phhsssss!!!"

I have try to search in related topic but notthing was found regarding to setting up turbo on B18CR engine. I don't really plan to make tons of power, but wanna give it more "juice" into it. From your experience, what is the safest level of boost on borestock JDM ITR engine? I don't want to go husstle with internal work and stuff, just wanna slap on the turbo, tune it and run it, just like that.

Your advice will have a great impact on my decision on putting on the turbo. cuz I wanna do it right the first time. Thanks!

Based on the apparent lack of knowledge you've displayed in the first post, I wouldn't go above even 5psi. Its very typical for people to jump on the bandwagon (rather than do research), get a giant turbo, buy all ssautocrap parts, blow up their huge investment, then go buy a slobalt, srt4, or evo/sti. Or in your case (Thailand), nissans instead of our crappy domestics.

I would highly recommend the JRSC for you, as you can at least put it on yourself w/o major problems, then take it somewhere immediately to have it tunned. Even a stock B16 w/JRSC will make a modded NA B18C5 feel like a stock d16.

Compression Ratio is a little high on that motor. Not to say it can't be done but you will need a great tune and would also have to keep the PSI low. Slap on a thicker head gasket and you'll be good to go.

good to see some Thai's on here. What Hiprofile said was some good advice, but i would do it with a small turbo.
