Dude, the whole point of the Hf model was to get super awesome gas mileage. The engine and transmission are not even close to being fast as hell. The good news is that your Hf model is light weight, so it has potential if you want to swap motor and trans... or you can just enjoy what I like to call: "the poor man's Prius".

Hmm not sure...but your best thing to do is a motor swap. There is no better upgrade for you right now then a swap.

A turbo kit will cost over 1000 bucks...engine swap can be done for that.
turbo kit-------engine swap

But there is really NOTHING you can do to your motor. If I was you, and once I was in your shoes. The best thing to do is get I/H/E. (Intake/Header/Exhaust).

I feel for you, I have a 91 HF and I am just running the crap out of it, In the mean time I am using this time to re doing the interior, suspension, exterior mods out of te way while enjoying the MPG savings I get with my beater.

As soon as I feel I am ready I am dropping another built up engine in.

Look at it this way, the gas $$$ you save put it back in to it then BAM... Upgrade!!

Go to the welding shop, rent yourself a bottle of pure O2, put a regulator on it, and tap into your intake manifold, set it about 2-5lbs of pressure, only turn on the regulator when you are driving. Should get you about 50 more horse for about 40 bucks. Then when it blows up, go buy your engine to swap it out with. I've got a turbo on my HF, but I got the turbo in a trade. FYI even getting a turbo for free will cost you about another $700-800. (chipped ECU, MAP, O2, manifold, redoing exhaust, cold air intake piping, and finding someone to tune it for you)

It's a plug and play setup. Use an Si tranny and bring your car from a 19 second monster to a 15 second monster for about 500$.

Literrally the cheapest way to making an HF fast is swaping a SOHC ZC or a D16A6 (same motor).
