Default Ebay projector question...

Okay, so I have some Ebay specials like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1: which are lying around doing nothing (took em off... didn't like them). Does anyone know how hard it would be to swap the projectors with TSX projectors? I have ballasts and bulbs, just need the HID projector. This is my last resort before retrofitting into OEM housings.

It's much harder than retrofitting into OEM housings unless you can find a projector that's exactly the same as the junk projector in your Ebay headlight.

Its easier to retro OEM's? I thought it would have been easier to open up the hole in the ebay specials than to have to cut a new hole and completely fabricate new mounts in the OEM. So you think I should just retro? I am money conscious and mainly want HID projectors for better lighting and not looks. I guess I am going to need the TSX projectors no matter which route so I am going to try to fit them in to the ebay specials... if that doesn't work ima hit customlightz.com up.

You will have at least two problems when retrofitting into the Ebay headlight housings.
1. The space inside the headlight is really tiny due to the black housing thing. TSX projector is probably too big for it so you may need to cut some part of the black housing.
2. The mounting holes of your TSX projector will not match the mounts in the housing. You have to either fabricate new mounts or fabricate new holes on the projector.

On http://www.gen5alive.com there's a guy by the username "TSM_Pikachu" and he may be on here....he knows a lot about retrofitting Xenon projectors into either eBay/TYC projectors or OEM headlights. Hit him up. I had the same idea you have by getting a cheap ebay one but he directed me in a better way. He even says he'll do it, pretty affordable I might add.....talk to him and see what he can do for you.

The TSX and S2000 projectors are the best as far as light output / distribution as well as the cutoffs... with the S2000 having a little better foreground lighting. You have to have special projectors for HID bulbs otherwise you get restricted light output in halogen projectors or way too much glare in reflector housings. I am just looking to get the best possible lighting out of my car. The TSX projectors are usually $100 to $150 cheaper than the S2000 as well and since my 5th gen housings are so slim I wouldn't have much benefit from the extra foreground lighting with the S2K's anyway.
