i would definitely not listen to this guy. he doesn't know what he is talking about
first off, the smaller the number of the plug the hotter it's rating is . therefore 7's aren't Too cold compared to 8's. 8's are colder compared to 7's

I'm tuned at 48psi with #9's
On pump gas cars around 18-22psi I like to use #8's
#7's would be perfect for 6psi
I believe the B18B uses #5's stock

What would be the negative effects of running a plug that is colder than what you should be running. For example if I run an 8, and goto 9?

The higher the number the colder the plug.
7's will be fine

so on my b18b1 with 9psi I should run my 7's? When I put my 7's in with my basemap tune, they seemed to get real rich, as the other plugs are ok. Is this because of the colder plug?
Running a plug thats too cold means it won't reach its self-cleaning temp, and you get hella-deposites. Running one thats too hot and you'll bake the plug, possibly crackingthe insulator, etc. The plug itself won't make it too rich or lean, except when its covered with ****, and can't toss a good spark across the gap. Best thing you can do with a daily driver with colder plugs is show it some hard boost on occation.
It really depends on what your plugs 'read' as. Get it tuned well, read/change the plugs, then mild retune, reread.

Check your tune...I have #9's with 1600cc injectors and no Idle control motor and the car fires up very well...even in the winter....we spent lots of time on cold start tuning.
How much boost are you ruuning with those #10's

i got my gsr tuned on 9's and later switched to 8's and then 7's. my car had a weird idle on 9's and i didn't even make 300hp, so 7's were well suited.
so it's up to you, 7 or 8's. i would say go 7's.

i fined tuned my car for daily driving/idle and i fixed that cold idle. i needed to add more fuel in the coolant temp correction map
