oil leak!!!

Default oil leak!!!

there seems to be an oil leak from under the dizzy or a sensor under there. are there any commom problems with oil leaks there and does any1 no wat i need to get to fix it. cheers

what kind of motor is this? DOHC or SOHC? on my B18 i had that problem and it was from the cam seal

im not too familiar with sohc but it should still have the cam seal gasket under the dizzy, check if thats where the leak is coming from.

It's usually your distributor O-Ring Gasket... Costs a dollar online and anywhere from 5 - 7 at your local honda parts desk...

That's the only thing that will leak and collect oil under the dizzy on a SOHC... Since we don't have a second cam, there's no cam seal to worry about... The distributor O-Ring is essentially the cam seal since the camshaft is what drives the dizzy. If it was your valve cover gasket, that would be pretty easy to spot.

Easiest way to check is to pull the whole distributo off (3 12mm bolts) and see how much gunked up oil you have built up. While you're there, check the condition of the said O-Ring and you'll probably find it a bit shrunken for the groove it sits in a it will probably flat instead of round...
