Default Dimmer wire -to- Mute wire?

ok, last wires to connect or let stand still.

- the deck harness has a Mute wire (brownish wire)

- the adapter harness has a Dimmer wire (orange wire)

should they go together or not? the mute wire also has something to do with telephone rings that i'm not using.

no they do NOT go together!
if you are not using them, just put a piece of E-tape on the end of the unused wires.
