Default Help! Passenger side power window appears to be dead '00 Si

Ok, my passenger side power window starting acting up over a year ago. Every now and then it would just plain go dead. Most times the next day it would work fine, once or twice banging on the door panel even got it going. Eventually however, nothing would revive it. I've been able to live without that window working for awhile but I'm thinking about selling the car and I need to fix it. I've got a couple of questions. First, is there a way I can tell if its truly a burned out motor and not just a switch or something? Second, where can I find a cheap power window motor if thats the problem (most likely it is)?

another question, is there a way to diagnose a check engine light without taking it to a mechanic? i remember i had an older camaro when i was a kid and you could just short a fuse and get it to give you the error codes...

You can check it yourself just jump the connector on the pass. side footwell on the right. as for the regulator try running the motor to direct 12v and see if that will work. If it does then it might be wiring or switch

It's my O2 sensor. It's a shame I have to spend $75 on a worthless part just to get the light to turn off.

your window:
pull the plug from the harness that runs to the window motor, connect 12V across the two connections, the window will run up or down. switch the connections and it will go the other way.

most of the time problems like this are a problem in the wiring or connections (75% of the time)
