painting stock ek sideskirts (searched)
So im getting my whole car painted, but my painter says that because of the texture on the sideskirts the paint wont stick well and will peel or crack off later. But I have a couple of friends that have had theirs painted with no problems. I searched and all I could find was that I should use some adhesion promoter and some flex additive. Is this true? Any painters or anyone with experience with this please help! Car is being painted friday or saturday!
I have painted many sideskirts. I usually just clean them good with dish soap, hit them with some 320 grit and then wash them again with a scuff pad. After they dry either clean them with plastic cleaner or alcohol. Shoot some primer on them and then base/clear(use flex add in the clear). Never had a problem with chipping or pealing. I never use any kind of promoter. I hear bad things about them. Goodluck
thanks for the advice guys
