we were at a wreck yard today and noticed a CRV withthe body wrecked to ****,but the motor looked good.At that point i started to consider doing a B20 swap into my HX as opposed as going for the more traditional b16/b18.It seemed like all the other B motors except for one thing.the intake manifold seemed to ascend more than that of the LS and GSR etc.if i do go through with this,do i just swap out the IM for that of an LS or GSR?does it even matter?and are the same mounts and brackets necessary for this swap as would the B16 or B18?

 

some refer to that version of the B20 as the "giraffe" style. I believe it's a B20b, and not the prefered b20Z. GSR IM won't fit, since the GSR has its own unique bolt pattern. B series mounts are the same.

good place to start. look into crv/vtec. most commonly, it's a b20 block with a gsr or b16 head

 

You need the LS intake manifold - both b20 and later b18 use the P75 head.
Mounts will be the same as any b series into ek

CRV/VTEC? you mean a site or just into projects relating to vtec heads on B20 blocks?
theres one local that has it done,but the guy who has it didnt even know till i pointed it out to him.i guess ill just source the mounts and look for an LS intake mani.is the vtec head better for the application? and what other vtec parts would i need?

 

is 1200 a fair pirce for one of these?the guy who owns the parts yard as mood swings and with that prices change from generous to ****
how much shold i be willing to shell out to ge this project rolling?

On password jdm you can buy 2 jdm b20 long blocks for 999.00(its on special 2 for 999.00 or 1 for 550.00) hahaha.
