Default Where the hell is my oil?

I have a turboed ls and the feed line for the turbo is threaded into the stock oil pressure sensor location. The problem is, I've just put in my rebuilt turbo and I'm trying to prime the feed line but no oil is coming through. I disconnected the distributor and cranked the engine for 5 sec at a time about 10 times. No oil was coming through the return line on the turbo so I took the feed line off the back of the block and cranked it again, still no oil. Does the engine have to be on to have oil pressure to the stock oil pressure sensor? Thanks.

By the way, my autometer oil pressure sensor is t'd off the middle of the feed line and before I took the turbo off to get it rebuilt it was reading oil pressure normally.

try cranking it for longer. My SR20DET used to take about 10-15 seconds of cranking at once to get oil pressure up. I did this when i did oil changes.

Edit: If not, turn the car on....if no oil press in 5 seconds or so...turn it off. No harm done. Unless the motor is bone dry or something. Like a fresh rebuild or has been sitting for ever.

on the EG civic i did it seemed like it would not create oil pressure for about 5-6 seconds after the motor was turned fully on. doesnt mean that it wont build while just cranking just give it time or like above just turn it on and if it doesnt flow then turn it off the turbo will be ok

The motor's been sitting for about 7 months, not sure if its going to be completely bone dry or not, but it has had the chance for the oil to leak down.

drain a half quart/ full quart into a bucket, pour a half quart/ full quart in. This will pour over the head and motor slightly.
