No oil to turbo, help please.
the setup is the sunpro copper oil line kit off the block then to a tee with the stock pressure sensor and the oil feed line. we are cranking it over to get the oil into the turbo to prime it(this is a good way to do it right?) and there is no oil coming out the turbos end of the feed. what to check or fix?

we pulled the feed off the turbo to see if oil comes out when we turn the engine over. we have the plug wires out and are cranking it and no oil is coming out of the feed.

it usually takes forever to get oil out of the line. Just pour a little oil down the turbo itself of just don't do it at all. By the time the turbo actually spins enough to need oil it will have oil pressure already. You don't even really need to worry about it.
People say to do it to "clean out" the line, but seriously... what the heck could be in there that is going to magically disappear after oil runs through it? Nothing significant.

just hook it all up and turn the car on and let it idle for a minute or two. the turbo won't be spinning fast enough to put any serious wear on it. the take off the return line and make sure it's going through the turbo.

really? shouldnt at least some oil be coming out of the feed? we did 4 sessions of 5 second turning over and nothing coming out. kinda worried there might be a crimped section of the copper line but we didnt see anything. he just had the turbo rebuilt so we really dont want to hurt it.

I'm with dustin. Just start it. You will be cranking it for 8 hours if you want to see oil come out the feed line. At idle the turbo spins slow as a record player. This 'priming' the turbo talk is out of hand. Start it..let it run for like 10 seconds then shut it off and see if you have oil if you are that worried. I'm sure you spun the turbo by hand more times then that before you installed it.

i just started mine up and let it idle for a few minutes. it needs to warm up anyhow before you go blowing pressure on it. my turbo wasn't even spinning unless i blipped the throttle.(didn't have air filter on yet, easy to see)

heh, my bud justinCO & i did the exact same thing about a week ago on his turbo setup for like 3 hours.
then i asked another turbo guy & he said, "you dorks, there's no way the oil pump will generate enough pressure by just cranking the motor over with the starter."
