Default JDM A/C Fitment Question

Hi, i was wondering if the air conditioning system from a JDM Type R will fit a US Type R?

It came on a front clip of a JDM R (obviosly right hand drive) so i want to know if it will fit in to my car, or is there any modification needed at all?

thanks

I wanna say that the compressor is the same, and the lines are def different. I think you could get away with using the compressor, but would have to use usdm on the rest.

Don't you have to pull the dashboard to put the inside portion of the A/C in?

It might be different going back in but to remove that all you have to do is pull the glovebox and you can access the plastic ducting that contains the under-dash A/C components...

not sure if this helps, but my USDM type R kept the factory A/C with the JDM front end. Wasn't told of any problems in bolting up the condensor or lines. So if the USDM fits the JDM front end, it makes sense that they are the same. JDM or not. I can provide pics if you want.

actually, me and your mom stayed up all night discussing it. Why you guys have to be such dicks all the time? Maybe if you spent less time on these web boards being jerk off's, and more time actually driving your cars, having lives, etc. you'd not have to act this way. Y'all need to get laid. That's what I figure.

FWIW, you do not have to pull the entire dash for the condensor, just the glove box and well if your Jim sized... you might want to pull the seat to get up under there. Us midgets don't seem to have that problem.

think about what you said. all you did was change a front bumper? not a lhd/rhd components, so obviously what you did contains no relevant information for the OP.

by switching the front bumper and switching rad support you don't even touch any ac components yet alone electrical components, other than splicing the signals and headlights.

I beg to differ. The condensor in front of the radiator had to be pulled, and mounted up to the new core support. Just thought you'd like to know. What you are saying about the lines into the cabin though, I understand what you're saying. RHD to LHD. I was thinking about all the other parts mechanical parts being the same.
