what to clean head with

whats a good way (besides getting it resurfaced) to clean the surface of a head? i had some "gasket remover" spray and a plastic putty knife and tried it but its still got some junk on it

break cleaner.. or "spic and span" something like that.. and a rag.. well works for me

Carburetor cleaner/dip works great so long as you can deal with the toxic odors.
