Default Amp in protection mode........

i got a amp as a hand me down from a friend its nothing baller or anyhitng liek that and it seems to be old

but it is a rockwood 4ch 600 wat amp

when we got it we hooked it up to my friends car which has had a system for over a year to test it out

this car has a rockford fostgate punch p1

it sounded pretty good for a while but kinda low so we turned the gains up
this specific amp is weird it has a button to bridge the chanels unlike newer ones were u separate the chanels

so we turned the gain down and bridged the amp once we did this it went in to protection mode and the sub woofer made a low hit sound and sounds like a heart beat while doing this the protection light blinks on and off

i moved this amp into my car and it still continues with the same type of deal

i have tried the amp with just the ground remote and 12 volt
with no success

any suggestions sorry its so long

probably by pressing that button you talked about it dropped the ohm load of the speaker and fried the internals. that amp is probably done for.

throw that amp in the trash or you can use it for a paperweight or to even out that wobbly table you have.....and get a real amp... not a half kenwood/ half rockford

This is your problem, it would probably be better used to stick under your tire to keep your car from rolling.

Seriously throw it away and buy something else.
