Problem engine surging lights surging miles being put on while idling???
My friend is having problems with his type r. Today he starting over heating because his coolant line going to or from the heater core were leaking. Now when the car is started the mph bounce around, the motor is surging ( probally cuz coolant needs to be bled), the lights surge and the wierdest thing is the odometer is putting miles on while it is idling. What is the problem with his car i cannot figure it out???
speed sensor is fine check with a new one

just got a scanner and codes were p1298 electrical load detector high input and p0141 o2 heater circuit malfunction what does the p1298 mean?
Sounds like the voltage regulator in the alternator is toast and the alternator is putting out higher than normal voltage.
do you think that is the problem? i did the check in the manual with the 3 pin connector for the ELD and everything was good.
the idle and all the problems start only when the car is revved after its been running it keeps popping the number 15 fuse.
the funny thing is the car put 10 miles on just sitting in my garage lol

Sounds like the Primary or Secondary O2 sensor wires are shorting out (particularly the fat white wire).
